First established in Australia, Megatix is a ticket company that helps promoters sell tickets for attractions, events, and concerts. It does this in a few ways: 

  • Internet booking engine (IBE), which empowers promoters to sell tickets directly through their own websites.
  • Ticketing platform/marketplace and app, where promoters can list their tickets for sale and tap into the marketplace’s established audience
  • Travel app (Bali App), where promoters can not only sell tickets but also provide helpful travel information regarding each attraction  

Currently, Megatix boasts around 1000 promoters, with thousands of tickets sold.

Challenges

Difficulties in activating payment methods

To reach a wide audience, Megatix needed to provide a wide range of options to accept payments from customers—both directly from end customers through their ticketing platform and app as well as on behalf of promoters who are using Megatix’s IBE.

However, with the previous payment gateway they worked with, they had to prepare extensive paperwork and go through time-consuming processes to activate each payment method.

Difficulties integrating with previous payment gateway

When working with its previous payment gateway, Megatix had a hard time performing the integration process. The contact person at the payment gateway tended to take a long time to answer their questions and did not seem supportive overall. This delayed Megatix’s progress significantly.

Each week, Megatix has to disburse funds to 190 accounts. This includes disbursing promoters’ share of ticket sale proceeds, as well as disbursing refunds to customers in cases where events have to be canceled.
